Happy Holidays!!! Please remember your pets during the holiday season, keep them safe from yummy holiday food and treats that they could get into that might make them sick. Also please remember the animals that wont have homes for the Holidays and consider giving one of those animals the greatest gift of all...A home of their very own. Contact us if you are looking for a new pet to add to your family this holiday season. And please note that unless giving to someone in the household that you will be responsible (or mostly responsible) in taking care of, pets DO NOT make good presents!!!

The mission of Sacred Vision Animal Sanctuary (SVAS), a 501(c)(3) recognized charitable organization, is to help rescue and reduce the number of stray, abandoned, unwanted animals until there are no more of them. Of these rescued animals we try to place as many as we can in new, permanent homes. We also want to help educate the public about the importance of SPAYING and NEUTERING their pets and animals they are taking care of. We hope to help reduce/contain the numbers of feral cats in our area as well, by trapping, testing, spaying/neutering and releasing them where they will have a constant source of fresh food and water.

SVAS was started by Elizabeth Owen in 2000 after the latest stray cat wandered up to her house. She lived at the end of a dirt road where it seemed like a good dumping ground for animals that were not needed anymore. She decided that she wanted to help these animals and ones like them.

On average the humane societies and pound in our area puts to sleep about 35 animals a day - 75% of those being cats. Most of these animals are euthanized because they do not have homes. We want to help stop the overpopulation and help people find these animals in the shelters and get them into new forever homes.

This handsome fellow was one of our rescues. He was finally adopted when he was 10 months old with his twin sister.
